Those inspectors who are concerned about the procedures regarding the elevators, moving sidewalks, inclined railways and escalators, among many other devices, are called Elevator Inspectors. Home Inspectors focus on any recently built residential structures and their general condition. Usually, they are employed by home buyers and homeowners who want a diagnosis. Mechanical Inspectors are in charge of examining all the mechanical elements of structures; for instance, kitchen appliances, air conditioning equipment and gas and oil piping.  Also, Plumbing Inspectors look, obviously, over plumbing systems. What a Public Works Inspector does is, mainly, to check that highways, bridges, sewer and water systems, dams and highways conform to the law and to what the Federal, State, and local government establish. Finally, Specification Inspectors are the ones who confirm that the construction has been done in accordance to the specification of the design.
