NATEF and ASE: Educational Programs for Jobseekers from the Automotive Industry


Due to the recent increase in the implementation of modern technologies in the automotive industries, several institutions have been training people who are interested in working with brand modern motor vehicles. Moreover, these people are obtaining the certifications which translate into computer literacy recognition. In like manner, every individual who is appealed by this industry must also fulfill certain requirements to be able to carry on this big business.

Automotive technician aspirants will be asked to manage strong business, computer and math skills. The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of training programs nationwide with the voluntary certification. They are the responsible for the school evaluation programs and are the ones in charge of making recommendations for ASE certifications. NATEF is supported by the State Departments of Education in all 50 states. They count on the latest technologies from the industry, which allows their students apply for immediate positions.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) takes care of the certifications needed to work in automotive industries. The most important certification they give is known as CASE (Continuing Automotive Service Education), which corresponds to a voluntary program for training entities that provide education to work in the field.

As mentioned before, training from a community college is also needed. It is quite important to promote a better understanding of the automotive industry and the job opportunities it offers.
