American Luxury Car Forum a Success and Still Growing
Lincoln vs. Cadillac Forums today surpassed 5,000 members. The forum features technical articles and peer support for maintenance and performance-enhancements of the two premier American luxury cars.
--November 7, 2005 -- The Lincoln vs. Cadillac Forum today passed another milestone: 5,000 registered members.
This is a significant achievement in the forum world, where most new start-ups linger and whither away within the first few months, rarely achieving 100 members.
Lincoln vs. Cadillac features member driven message boards, do-it-yourself car repair articles, automotive news, photo galleries, and more. The forum offers free advice and suggestions from other members regarding repair, maintenance, and modification of Lincoln and Cadillac automobiles of all years and models. Such advice routinely saves forum members money in repair costs by helping them to learn to repair their automobiles themselves and/or to source the necessary parts at the best price.
Joey DeTomaso, aka Joeychgo, is the owner and founder of the Lincoln vs. Cadillac forum. “LVC”, as it is known to its members, was launched on March 14, 2004, and is described as “the largest forum on the internet dedicated to the American luxury car”. The web site has been featured in several major auto magazines, including a May 2005 review by columnist Jeff Bauer in Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords and a June 2005 article in Rides Magazine.
The forum includes owner’s manuals and technical articles on topics from basic maintenance to performance enhancements, all clearly written in a step-by-step format and illustrated with photos and diagrams. The forum also promotes regional chapters, a Buy and Sell section, and a “Photo Garage” where proud members can display their vehicles.
The competition suggested by the name ‘Lincoln vs. Cadillac’ is tongue-in-cheek. Asked “who is winning?”, Joey replies, “the ‘vs’ is really nothing more than a friendly rivalry… many of our members own both a Lincoln and a Cadillac.” Joey himself owns a 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII and a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII.
In addition to Joey, the forum administration includes Bryan Clark, Geno Angelino, Ray Urso, and Kale Kainoa. Basic registration in the forum is free, although a $30 annual subscription gets you a Gold Membership with several additional perks including a lincolnvscadillac.com email address and discounts from many auto supply vendors.
Joey expects Lincoln vs Cadillac to continue growing in popularity over the next year, and expects to see 10,000 or more.
